Dressage AND fun in the same sentence you say? Heck, yes! Learning all day, watching other lessons, demo's, time with your horse, and great fun evenings. Stay over in your lorry or camp, or for the proper divas amongst you there are some lovely B & B's / hotels locally. Check out our great programme below - DAY 1 approx 10am start - Demo (starring Denise and Florence) ''How to squeeze those extra marks out of the Judge - without her saying 'ouch'!'' With judge Heather Clark. Followed by Q & A - (how to squeeze test riding secrets out of the judge who is by now thoroughly squeezed) Then in the afternoon, your turn to squeeze the marks! Test riding with Heather, 45 minutes per rider, ride a test of your choice with two feedback sheets. Supper (inc) at The Bell at Tong (2 course menu to chose from) DAY 2 approx 9.30 start - ''An exercise for everything'' A day focusing on rider biomechanics. We begin with rider stretches and core strengthening (please bring an exercise mat if you can) - group giggles with Lucy Faulkner demonstrating (the flexible one) and Denise coaching (the not very flexible one ), then pairs lessons for an hour focusing on how your own seat can help balance, contact and forwardness, (with Denise). The late afternoon is spent with Lucy (Wrekin Veterinary Physiotherapy) and Denise showing you dismounted core exercises for your horse (every participant gets to practice under Lucy's watchful eye. An evening BBQ is included. DAY 3 9am start ''Variety is the spice of schooling'' Demo with Denise and Florence, following on from the themes of Day 2, Denise talks about optimum use of the horse's body for more suppleness, more soundness and more motivation for both horse and rider, whilst showing how different exercises can help you create more impulsion and a rounder softer back. Then each rider has a private 45 minute lesson with Denise, with questions and close being around 4pm. WHAT THE CAMP INCLUDES - All tuition, lectures, demos, Pub meal (2 courses, starter and main or main and dessert but not drinks) on the Monday evening, and BBQ on the Tuesday evening, stabling including bedding for your horse, hay or haylage. Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits. You may camp on site, or stay in your lorry, but please note, we do not have hook up facilities. WHAT THE CAMP DOES NOT INCLUDE - hard feed, livery services, your breakfast lunch, or accomodation. Extra bedding is available but not included (a good bed of straw or pellets / shavings mix will be down on your arrival). Please bring your own alchoholic drinks. We have a fridge, microwave and toaster for your use. There is hot water for washing and nice clean loos but no shower on site. OTHER NOTES - Please bring your ipad or use your phone to ask other participants to video your lessons for you. We have a lovely track around our paddocks which you can use for hacking around. We may be able to provide a small paddock for shared use during the camp - this must be cleared of poo and left clean at the end of camp. COST OF CAMP - £315 (own horse) £415 (TDS horse) £100 deposit payable on booking - non refundable within 6 weeks of the camp start date (substitute horse can be found for you if you cannot bring your own for any reason).
