DEMO Dressage with Porridge 'The Long Haired Lipizzaner'

We are so excited to welcome Sam Gorman, BHSI BDCC3, and her two beautiful traditional gypsy cobs (Baby) Patrick, and Porridge (The Long Haired Lipizzaner) to TDS Riding Centre Tong for a very special lecture demo, on what promises to be a fun and informative evening. Sam has competed to Inter 1 previously, and trained at Talland for her BHSI. She has since trained with List 1 International Judge Stephen Clark, and also had input from a Chief Rider of the Spanish Riding School. The evening starts at 6.15pm, with a glass of bucksfizz and a bite to eat, and then into the indoor school foa a prompt 7pm demo start. Patrick goes first, and is Porridge's younger twin. He is just 6 this year, and a sensitive and sometimes reactive boy - Sam will show us with him how she prepares for longevity and confidence in his ridden career, taking time before he starts going to shows. Next, Sam will teach Zoe Hodgkiss, TDS's youngest coach who is just about to take her BHS stage 2, on our own special coblet, George, who teaches many beginner and nervous riders, and truly earns the title 'Saint George!' After a comfort break, the star of the show will take centre stage, and Porridge will show us how he and Sam hope to train on to Grand Prix, their progress to date, and some of the building blocks in training which have given Sam a name for training many horses who would not traditionally be considered as dressage horses. This special evening is truly a celebration of those horses who flick their feathers with pride, of riders daring to dream no matter how supposedly 'ordinary' their horse might be, and above all, of the versatility and nobility of the humble cobs who give us, their owners so very much.
