Group lessons
We have various types of group lessons to suit all. Below will show you which lessons currently have availability for new and current clients at TDS.
Return To Riding
This is a perfect group for adults who rode in their younger years or who are wanting to get back in to riding after a break. The lesson includes an hour and a half's learning and riding to include grooming, tacking up, or washing off and turning out, mini stable management or riding theory. They'll be a group ride of max 5 of an hour and the rest of the time will caring for your horse or mini lecture. The instructor will be Denise O'Reilly and it is £45 per person, payable on booking.
Friday afternoons farm ride
Join us, on a Friday afternoon at 2pm for a 2 hour escorted hack. These will be small groups, you set the pace, but all riders should be competent at walk trot and canter. You can book this on one of our horses, or bring your own!
You can even book Clare (our hacking queen) all to yourself to go on a nice confidence giver with your young or green / nervous horse. An absolutely ideal introduction to getting your young horse out and about. Cost - with one of our horses £69

Young Riders Club
Our very own in house version of the pony club. We have 3 different young riders clubs to suit various level of rider. We have our Foundation group every other Thursday evening. This is for our beginners who will be working towards walking, trotting and cantering with out assistance along with basic horse knowledge. On a Saturday morning we have our Fledgling young riders. This is for riders who are confidently walking, trotting and cantering and are ready to be working towards jumping and simple dressage tests. Last but not least is our Saturday afternoon group , the Future Stars. This is for the more experienced rider who is working towards having their own pony, and competing at TDS shows in dressage and jumping.
Intermediate Groups
These groups are great for the more experienced rider. We have a intermediate group on a Sunday morning with our proprietor Denise O'Reilly, this is working on improving flat work including biomechanics. This is a 1 hour lesson with a max of 5 people.
We also have our intermediate group on a Monday evening with Clare Atkins. Clare's lesson vary from flat work to jumping. Again this is also an hour lesson with a max of 5.
The lesson with Denise is £39.00 and the lesson with Clare is £37.00,
Tots Club
TDS Tots club is every other Thursday 4:30-6:00. These are group lessons aimed at developing potential young riders confidence around horses. Your child will gain confidence around ponies and develop a bond with them. Riding and grooming will help improve hand eye coordination. It will improve social skills with a familiar adult present. Your child will develop awareness of their own energy and how this will affect the pony; this in turn teaches self discipline. But of course we will give your child a fun atmosphere to learn in. Our tots club will consist of 1.30hrs at TDS, 30mins pony ride and 1 hr activity with ponies guided by instructor with parental help. No membership fee just £30 per time.
Sunday Children's Groups
We offer two group lessons on a Sunday with Zoe. We have our Sunday morning group which is the 10:00am beginners group. This is suitable for children from 4 and above and they don't need any prior experience. This lesson is 45 minutes long and is £29 a time.
Zoe also has an afternoon group lesson for the slightly more experienced rider called the novice children group. This is at 3:30pm, this is a great group lesson for children who have just started to ride independently in walk and trot. Novice children is £37 a time and is for 1 hour.
